Any ideas for what to put on it? I assume you mean a custom template rather than only CSS.

Yes, was talking about a custom template.
Forgejo has the option to replace/override only some of them, incl. the home.tmpl.

As for the content itself... well... no clue xD
The default forgejo one is about.. well.. forgejo. Since this is more a project specific instance it probably should be something (welcoming) about contributing to LW?

But I'm about as creative as a stone, so probably not the right person to ask here 🫠
